History

In 2019, in honor of Earth Day. over a dozen non-profit organizations working in Fairfax County came together to release a joint statement aimed at the local and state candidates running for elected office in the Fairfax County region. This platform laid out a joint vision for Fairfax County to improve the sustainability, livability, and inclusiveness.

The network of partners has continued to work together, formalizing a longer term vision and mission in 2021, and updating the platform in 2023.

Throughout this time, Fairfax Healthy Communities continues to grow as a network.
